A SHORT HISTORY OF YAQUBI
Yaqubi is the welknown village of Tehsil Razzar , district Swabi. The largest village of Swabi ,Yarhussain, lies in the north of yaqubi. It is situated on Adena Lahore road.
Total Population : 20 Thousands Approx. ( 2008 A.D )
People of this Village are mostly pukhtoons and belong to Malakzai subtribe of Tapa Razzar of yousfzai tribe. Besides, there are Gujars,Awans ,Sadaat,and Qazis also.The pukhtoons are divided into Mohallas as follows

Orignally Yaqubi was established by Dalazaks, a tribe which occupied the Peshawar valley upto the end of 15th century and who were later in dislodged by the yousafzais.The ancestors of the present pukhtoon population of this village came from Yarhussain in 1850 round about.Some Gujjars and Awans were already living there as tenants of pukhtoons since occupation of this land from Dalazaks.
The existance of a mound(derae)at the North of the village,where, from excavation statues of Gandhara civilization have been found,points to the fact that this is a very ancient village.
